You should always begin with a freshly sharpened pencil. Apply the liner as close to your lashes as possible. Start by tracing the contour of your eye and draw above the iris. Generally you want to go a little past the outer corner of the eye. Once the eyeliner is applied, blend t up and then out. To soften, lightly smudge the upper lid line.

If you desire smaller almond shaped eyes, apply the liner only to the upper lids and lash line. For big and round eyes, apply the lower and upper lids without touching at the corners.
